I had the best time putting together a little Mama to Bee š Shower for my friend Taylor! Taylor has been a friend of mine for over 10 years now (we met Freshman year of college!)Ā and I’m pretty much in denial that she is leaving me for Oklahoma soon š But on a happier note, let’s show you more of this shower!
I always love seeing what other people do for food menus at showers/parties so here is ours! We did pulled pork, rolls, artichoke + pita chips, a salad (recipe below), and of course my Thirsty Mom sparkling water drink! (sparkling water, fresh lemons, grapefruit syrup, and mango puree).Ā I put it in this gorgeous pitcher.
The salad was a recipe I got from my aunt Sara and it was a huge hit! It is SO good and so simple. I wish I had better measurements but I usually just eyeball things when I cook so I am definitely not legit at all š¤Ŗ But trust me, it is so so good!
For the salad:
- Romaine lettuce
- Feta cheese
- Sugared sliced almondsĀ (I just put a cup of sliced almonds and 1/4 cup sugar on a pan on medium and mix until caramelized)
- Bacon
- Pears
- Strawberries
- You can add so many other things or mix as needed! The dressing goes great with so many things. i.e. onions, apples, etc.
Dressing:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 slice of an onion
- 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar
- Blend together in a blender until onion has disappeared and then add…
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- Blend a little longer!Ā
For dessert, we served up these cute beehive cakes! The cake pan is linked HERE! And then we used THIS RECIPE.
