The Books I Read in 2021

Before we start, I need to reiterate that I am not a professional book reviewer/critic. These are simply my reviews of the books I read. Do your research before you purchase any because I know we all have different tastes/preferences. I also need to do a little disclaimer that some of these books have adult language and romance. Don’t judge me LOL.

Also, if you aren’t reading on a Kindle yet, you are missing out!

1

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

This one kept me on my toes. I loved the twist and would suggest this read! Definitely more of a thriller.
2

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Interesting storyline but not my favorite read. However, it was a #1 NYT Best Seller so don't take my word for it!
3

Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

An entertaining read and an even more entertaining audiobook! Great to listen to on a road trip. Will and I both enjoyed it.
4

Mother In Law by Sally Hepworth

I thought this was a super entertaining read and had a twist I didn't see coming! I enjoyed this read.
5

Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell

This book kept me on my toes too! Every parent's worst nightmare ugh. I really did enjoy this read.
6

People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry

This is a book people seemed to talk about a ton and I found it so boring?! I don't know... sorry if it was your favorite but I found it so predictable and a little cheesy.
7

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah

Kristin Hannah wrote The Nightingale, The Great Alone and so many other books that I love but this one fell a little flat for me. It's about the Dust Bowl in Texas... so if that fascinates you maybe you'll like this one!
8

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

This is a book I couldn't stop thinking about. I felt like I wanted to talk to everyone I knew about it and analyzed so many. pathways in life I could've taken. Where would I be today? If you read this book and loved it, watch the movie The Family Man! Similar concept.
9

The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave

This is a quick read and did keep me entertained. I wasn't totally in love with the ending but have a feeling there could be a sequel.
10

Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino

This one I recommended on Instagram before I finished it and was HORRIFIED at all of the sex scenes haha! My bad... but if you're in the mood for a little romantic novel, this one is fun!
11

A Coat of Yellow Paint by Naomi Davis

Great if you follow @taza and are interested in her life story.
12

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Another kind of *sexy* book but I really loved this one. Loved the ending too!
13

Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

They are making a movie out of this book with Mila Kunis, etc. Good to read if you like reading books before the movie comes out!
14

Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier

This was my favorite book of all of 2021. I couldn't put it down and loved the twist!
15

Killing Jesus by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard

I am currently reading this book and find it SO fascinating. Absolutely love learning more about Jesus Christ, especially at this time of year!
