Paris!

Paris // Willivia

Paris with my love was almost indescribable. For some reason, I’ve been itching to go to Paris for the longest time so I feel that we ended the trip on the perfect note. We were able to see everything we wanted to and more and ate more croissants and baguettes than I’d like to admit.

Paris // Willivia

Since we adore Monet, a lot of our trip was centered around seeing his pieces at The Orangerie and Musee d’Orsay etc. Such a special treat seeing it in person!

Paris // Willivia

Degas is a close second! I love how much he loved dancers.

If you are a Monet fan, put Giverny on your bucket list! Seeing his home was beyond words. It was the most darling little quaint town.

To be honest, I always thought macarons were some trendy treat… until I tried them in NYC this past December. Now I am hooked! Luckily Will is hooked too so we would splurge and get a giant pistachio one at Laduree once a day. They are TOO good. Sorry for hatin’ on you, trendy treat!

This restaurant is above is a MUST DO! Will has “ordering anxiety” when we go to restaurants (kidding.. but it really does stress him out) so he LOVED this one. They literally have only one option. Steak and fries. That’s IT. We loved it. Super fun experience!

Willivia // Paris

When we went to Versailles we walked up to the new LDS Paris Temple. It was so beautiful! President Eyring was actually inside the temple at the time doing the final inspection to dedicate it. We were so sad we couldn’t go inside.

Until next time, Paris!

Lake Como, Italy

Lake Como Italy // Willivia

Oh man. This might be my favorite blog post to date!

Lake Como was easily one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been. I wish I had the time (or desire) to gracefully put all of these photos in an aesthetically pleasing order but I don’t so here’s just a bunch of them! This was truly a fairytale land.

Will came to Lake Como about ten years ago on a family trip and has since then been his favorite place. He was so excited to bring me here!

One afternoon we just read books on a bench in the shade overlooking the water. It was so peaceful with no phone service and zero cares in the world. We each took turns dozing off taking naps and it was a calmness I really needed. Easily my favorite memory of the entire trip.

I will admit, I was so stressed about spending the extra money to fly into Italy since our flight went into London and out of Paris but coming here was worth EVERY penny. We talk about it every day and already want to go back asap!

Love you all.

Also, I receive a lot of emails/DM’s of people asking about my job so it may be easiest to state this here. No, my blog is NOT full-time and I never intend it to become that. I have ads and affiliate links (and I 100% appreciate the support I receive) but my blog isn’t in a big enough state that Will and I could live off it. This whole blog thing is purely a hobby of mine. I’ve always loved taking pictures and editing them and this is the perfect outlet for me.

We both 40+ a week at our jobs and enjoy providing for ourselves that way. I love my career and have no plans to stop that anytime soon 🙂

Thanks for reading and for your kind emails/messages. They mean the world.

London 2017

London // Willivia

In March I found some roundtrip flights to Europe for $400 a piece (regularly $1,000 or so from Utah) and I jumped on the opportunity FAST. It’s always been my dream to go to Europe with Will and at this time in our lives, it just seemed like the right thing to do.

We live insanely busy lives. I work almost every day from 4:20 am – 9 pm and Will works full time with a lot of outside responsibilities so we just needed a little break to recharge our batteries. We’ve traveled quite a bit recently, but it’s always with me working all day from my laptop and then enjoying the vacation at night.

This time, I just needed a real break and at first, it was hard for me! When our flight took off from SLC I sat down with no wifi and I felt a bit crippled. Even in London I just wanted to find wifi and answer work emails or resume a project I had going. It was finally 3 or 4 days into the trip that I was finally able to LET GO and just enjoy being with Will and feeling unconnected. I did the absolute minimal work possible (thanks to my understanding boss(es)!) and it was oh so needed for me.

Here are my favorite things we did:

  1. Bike ALL around! You can rent bikes for about 4 euro a day in London. If you return the bikes to a station within a 30-minute timeframe they don’t charge you anything after the 4 euro! So we would cruise for 20 minutes and then scramble to find a station and repeat again and again all day long.
  2. Hyde Park. Just in general. It’s so serene and beautiful. I could sit in there and read a book all day long.
  3. Notting Hill Neighborhood. The streets alone are just incredible.
  4. Victoria and Albert Museum. Fun free museum to get into. The crown room is unbelievable.
  5. Primrose Hill. My absolute favorite thing we did on the trip was jogging up to Primrose Hill on Saturday morning and then visiting their local farmers market. We ordered this fresh pork belly egg sandwich w/ bacon jam and ate it at the top of Primrose Hill. It looks over the entire city of London and is such a beautiful view! If you are there on a Saturday (I don’t know if this is seasonal) I highly suggest doing this. We actually both really hurt one of our knees (Will’s right knee. My left) on our jog up there so I don’t know if I recommend the jogging part 😉
  6. Camden Market.

Here is the yummy food we ate (thanks to my friend Brynn and Maddie for the suggestions!)

  1. Udderlicious (dark chocolate salted ice cream! yum)
  2. Kanada Ya. Great ramen spot!
  3. Selfridges. Fun little food court. We had the BEST salads here.
  4. Harrod’s Food Hall. Great food hall as well!
  5. Borough Market. Cheese toasties! The best.
  6. Strawberries and Cream. Right off the Bond street station. Holy YUM. I will dream about this treat for a long time.
  7. Byron Burger. Order the ZUCHINNI FRIES. I know, so odd. But they are SO GOOD and we preferred them over the real fries.
  8. Farm Girl. Healthier breakfast spot with delicious acai bowls.

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for Lake Como next. My favorite stop!

Willivia in Europe 2017

I always feel like I need to preface these videos with I’m not a videographer and will never claim to be. I simply love documenting our life through video and pictures. Hence this whole blog sha-bang. I always love looking back on our videos (almost more than pictures) and this is one video I know I will cherish forever.

My Mama Love

My Mama Love // Willivia

To know my mama is to love my mama.

My mama is one of the spunkiest, most hilarious, stylish and beautiful humans I know. She’s always the life of the party and simply wants everyone to have a good time and be happy.

With Mother’s Day coming up, I’ve been reflecting a lot on my mom and the lessons she’s taught me throughout my life. One lesson that absolutely stands out (and is the reason behind my blog header) is what she tells us, kids, every time we hop out of her car. She simply says,

“Be Kind to Someone Today”

I remember hearing her voice in my head in grade school and always trying a little harder that day to find someone to be kind to.

My Mama Love // Willivia

With Mother’s Day coming up, I knew without a doubt I wanted to get us both Made by Mary Zola necklaces that say Be Kind on them. That message has always been dear to my heart and now it literally gets to be. Since I, unfortunately, don’t get to hop out of my mom’s car every day now this is a perfect reminder for me to always look at.

My Mama Love // Willivia

My Mama Love // Willivia

My mom’s skin started developing vitiligo 5 years ago and is starting to spread quickly. She’s been the most incredible example of how to handle hard situations with grace and humor so I also grabbed a bracelet to remind her how much her five kids love her. All she should think of when she looks down at her hands is her family and how much we all love her ?

My Mama Love // Willivia

I love you, Mom! Thanks for your sweet example to me.

Hope everyone has a Happy Mother’s Day next week!

Mayday! It’s May!

Willivia // May

Guys.. what do we DO.

April went by soo fast and I’m so worried that May will go by that fast too! Life just needs to slow down. We have so many fun things coming up in May that I just want it to last forever!

Here’s a little bit of what Will and I have been up to lately.

ME:

Working A LOT. Recently moved to different positions at BOTH of my jobs and am loving the transition. Gaining new responsibilities and learning a lot!

Still teaching Pilates! Those 4:20 am wake-up calls can really kill me some days..

Right now we are babysitting the babies until Thursday and then a different family Friday-Tuesday. Why we pay rent… I have no idea ?

Trying to read more! Working from home is incredible and has so many perks… HOWEVER, it is so hard to discipline me to stop working and just relax at night.

Released from teaching Relief Society to our church group and now in Nursery ?

WILL:

Still working at Orca Health. Loving the startup life.

Rooting on the Utah Jazz. Really hoping they beat Golden State tonight! However, we are watching it right now and it’s not lookin too good….

Still eating Hagen Daz ice cream every night… that kids metabolism… I want it!

Helping more and more with Utah Grubs. That thing could be a full-time job in itself I swear!

Here are some pictures as well…

Willivia // May

We low-key walked through a house the other day which we had NO business buying. It went on the market and was incredible so we went through it. One can always dream, right?

ps. this bow sweater is my new favorite clothing item! And then the linen pants are basically pajamas so #notmad

Flowers from Easter

Documenting the day after my last church lesson… I will miss that calling so much!

Willivia // May

On Saturday we threw my grandpa a surprise 80th birthday party! I love that man with my whole heart and couldn’t be prouder of him. He has been through so much and is easily one of the most incredible people in my life.

Willivia // May

My contribution to the party!

Willivia // May

Oh, the Fish & Chips at Market Street Grill is just too good. We took my grandparents there for my Poppy’s birthday on Sunday.

Willivia // May

Can you tell I like tile floors yet?!

Willivia // May

Aaaand we’ve definitely got our hands full this week. At least they’re (kinda naughty and) dang cute!

Another favorite from my walk the other night.

And ending with this picture of Pizza. Because who DOESN’T like Pizza?

April Showers

Late Lee // Willivia

Life has had its fair share of both challenges and blessings lately.

There are days (weeks) when literally everything goes wrong (within one week of my camera getting stolen out of my car, Will’s car was smashed by another car that had no driver Monday night..) but I’ve also had so many realizations that these are small hiccups in a big, beautiful grand plan. I’ve tried really hard lately to look at the bigger picture and realize there are more important things in life than focusing on all the bad.

So, here are some of the more positive notes of our life lately…

Final Four // Arizona

Final Four // Arizona

Will and I have definitely been going a million miles a minute lately. Although I LOVE traveling, I’m excited for a month at home to just work and relax. We have so many projects that we’ve been wanting to do lately so I’m excited to have some time to cross them off!

(ps THIS SUITCASE is a total game changer for traveling! I’ve never been so obsessed with a suitcase in my whole life. I’m also always so shocked at how much I can fit in there! And it charges my phone ??)

Final Four // Arizona

Anyways, last week we came home from being in Arizona for the week. Will’s dad, Jeff, helps out at the Final Four every year so we were able to tag along this year! Jim Nantz and Jeff became great friends while they worked at KSL together (local Utah station) back in the day. They have remained great friends ever since so Jim flies Jeff out every year to help him during all the events associated with The Final Four. The Final Four is normally held on the east coast so we loved having it so accessible for us this year!

Will and I still had to work all week but there’s nothing like working in the sunshine next to the pool, right?! ?

Final Four // Arizona

We came to Gilbert on our honeymoon and still love it! It’s such a cute little row of restaurants with great food (and signage!).

Disney with the Babies

On Tuesday of this week, we went to Disneyland with “the babies”! It’s been our dream to go to Disneyland with them ever since we started babysitting them almost 3 years ago so it was one of the best days ever. Although at times you could tell they were a little over-stimulated, they loved it nonetheless and I think we’ve convinced their family to become big Disney fans ?
Here’s a little video I put together of the day. I am NOT a videographer (and will never claim to be) but thought this would be a fun way to document their first day!
Enjoy!

San Diego!

San Diego // Willivia

Last Monday I flew out to San Diego to work for a couple days. My job is headquartered out there and I’m still in awe at what a pretty place San Diego + the surrounding areas are.

San Diego // Willivia

When I travel I love to wake up extra early and walk the city to get more familiar with it. We stayed at an AirBnB in La Jolla which was truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.

San Diego // Willivia

One night on the trip I snagged this blue sweater from Banana Republic because I thought it was the prettiest color! You can’t see, but it’s scalloped at the top which I love ?

Will flew out on Tuesday because his work had the Orthopaedic convention in San Diego Wednesday through Friday. I helped them for a couple days which was more stressful than I anticipated but I loved working side by side with him.
