year recap

TOP 13 OF 13

2013 was full of approximately 2013 happy moments.
i didn’t think any year could get much happier/more adventurous that 2012 but i was wrong.
1. will’s first look
one of my top favorite moments was that moment Will turned around and saw me in my wedding  dress for the first time.
his smile was so huge and we just couldn’t stop laughing.
i love love loved that moment and will cherish it forever.
(the rest are in no significant order)
2. traveling with Willie.
we went to San Francisco for our first time as well as many other little trips.
3.  winning 2 national dance championships was definitely unforgettable.
we put SO much hard work into our routines and it was amazing to see it all pay off.
i will never forget cougarettes and the impact it had on myself and my life.

4. Will was away for the entire summer so I definitely cherished the weekend he would come home and we would soak up every moment together. we would fit all of our summer to-do’s into every minute possible. swimming at my grandma’s is one of our favorite summer memories.

 5. my families annual Newport trip is definitely my favorite.
the donuts, beaches, sports games and sunshine all come together to be one of my favorite vacations.

6. graduating from college!
i always knew Will would never come to BYU so I plowed through college to graduate a year yearly so i could be with him in salt lake. i LOVED my time at BYU and would honestly never change it for anything in the world.
BYU made me into the person I am today and I absolutely loved everything about that institution. I never thought I would go to BYU because I am a huge Utah fan but my BYU experience change my life, for the better.

( my mom just haaaaad to wear her red skirt to the ceremony. ute fever )
8. my sister Bella came home from her mission in Berlin!
having her home is the BEST.

9. my engagement!
obviously my engagement was one of the happiest moments of my life so how could i not include it.
the beachy April day was pure bliss.

beach engagement

 10. my best friends weddings!
i loved being apart of so many of my friends weddings.
from mesa to oakland to salt lake..
seeing my friends get married are the happiest days of my life!

11. my golden birthday!
i turned 21 on the 21st and i loved having Will home from the summer to make sure i had the best day ever
which it was..
how could you have a bad birthday when you wake up to a canyon run followed by a giant DC w/ lime and maple bar donut?

12.  i have had a goal since i was little to attend every temple in utah before i took out my endowments in the temple.
i loved going from manti, to monticello to vernal to achieve my goal.
all of the temples were so beautiful and i accomplished my goal the saturday before my wedding.
it was a great feeling to cross if off my list and was amazing to see all of the temples!
13. decorating our cottage
it might sound silly but a dream since i was little was to decorate my own home one day.
i love adding little things each day to make our cottage our home.

it has been an amazing year and i can’t wait to try to make 2014 even better!

WILLIVIA WEDDING VIDEO

These videos are something Will and I will for sure cherish forever.

We crack up watching this because we were literally talking about food the whole time.

“I’m hungry.”

“Same.”

“Where do you want to go after this? Pizza? Chik-fil-a?”

“We could get pizza and then shakes afterwards at Chik-fil-a.”

And that’s what we did.

HOLLA HOLIDAYS

On Friday night, Will and I threw our first annual couples Christmas party.
We loved gathering all of our friends together from Provo and SLC and celebrating the best time of the year.

Hi Duke.

The Gochnour have the most UNBELIEVABLE Christmas decorations.

We ate soup in bread bowls, salads, and far too many desserts!

Pretty classic, right?

After the party Will said,
“You know a great way to get into the holiday spirit? Getting all of your friends together and throwing a party just like that.”

SF

over thanksgiving, will and i traveled down to san francisco with some friends to be apart of darling Marissa’s wedding.
we woke up early (4 a.m.) and started our road trip to california.
i was up, alone, driving when all of the sudden will’s car broke down.
quite possibly one of the scariest experiences of my life.
it was completely dark outside and his car was slowing to a stop.
we were right outside of Wendover and cars were all going approximately 95 miles per hour behind us.
i frantically woke up Will and he peered out the window to see if it was safe for me to pull off to the side.for all i knew it could be a drop off into who knows what.

we pulled off to the side, and well, 4 hours later we were in my car on the road again.

thanks to Mr. Tow Man and will’s brother, ralph.
the rest of the trip was just dandy.
i ran a half marathon on thanksgiving and won a turkey!
we had ZERO idea what to do with it.
we tried giving it to the man at 7-11.
he thought we were selling him crack.
then later that day we went to see santa cruz!

people who think we are normal.. think again.

how cute were the newlyweds?!

after all of our wedding festivites we began our san fran adventures!

BEST GRILLED CHEESE EVER!
this store is for you Mama!
no comment.
we waited in line for the trolley for an hour of an half and all the trolleys going through were normal until ours came…
and it was a christmas trolley!
straight from santa, i swear.

i love donuts so much.
bob’s donut had the best apple fritter!
they said they were famous were it so we all got a couple and shared them around.

we definitely LOVED the city life!
be back again,
favorite city ever!!!
california

DISNEYLAND TWENTY-THIRTEEN

last week i was lucky enough to experience my first gochnour disneyland trip!
will’s mom LOVES disneyland so she flew us all down, bought us disney shirts, gave us scavenger hunts to do throughout the park, and supplied us with unlimited churros.
best. trip. ever.

oh, and it was all decorated for christmas!
constant christmas carols playing, characters dressed in their holiday best, rides decorated for christmas…
BEST way to kick off the season!

loved spending time with my darling new sister-in-law, abigail.

will and ralph literally tried on EVERY hat they saw.
it was hilarious.
they would make these kind of faces every time to be funny.
endless laughs with the gochnour boys.

there’s just so much goodness in this picture.

love all these new siblings of mine!
until next year, happiest place on earth..

HONEYMOONERS

our honeymoon was hands down one of the funnest trips of my life.
it was so fun to just relax with Will and just spend time with each other.

we had lots of fun with our fish eye lense.

the busyness leading up to wedding left us ready to just relax, sip piña coladas, and get 10 hours of sleep every night.

i stared at my wedding band a whole lot while Will did his homework.
engagement ring

we went to Pizzeria Bianco in tempe and it was deeeelicious.
Will claims he loves pizza so much because it has all your main food groups.
pepperoni (meat), cheese (dairy), crust (grains), tomatoes (vegetables AND fruit).
that man sure loves his pizza.

the woman that took this picture said
“i’ll take this picture for you but i hate Duke.”
oooooooooookay missy.

so i definitely got sweet potato fries for breakfast.
who’s mad?

i know it’s not tuesday but i think its safe to say take me back.

AND THE FESTIVITIES CONTINUE

somehow will and i have been lucky enough to have fourteen showers thrown for us in preparation to getting married…
and we have loved every single one.
(will is working on his posture)

every shower reminds us how grateful we are to have such amazing friends & family in our lives

will’s mom threw us a “maids & men” party at their house
it was a time for all the bridesmaids and groomsmen to hangout prior to the wedding to get to know eachother better
we ate delicious chicken & wild rice soup, mango & pork sandwiches
and had a pickle-ball tournament in their backyard

it’s especially exciting because they are all occurring during my favorite season
halloween? and a wedding?
i am in heaven.

ya i was in heaven after i ate three of those as well

the theme for my ward shower was a “perfect pear”

we are blessed beyond belief
12 more days… eek!
parties

SHOWERED

i have already been lucky enough to have 2 wedding showers thrown for me!
sarah, one of my dearest friends, threw me a fun salt lake shower at the tri-chi
she seriously went above and beyond
look how cute it was!

my sister also threw me a shower and her theme was “time”
so everyone brought a present that could be used at their certain assigned time

my favorite kind of cake
a donut cake.

i already feel so lucky and blessed for the kindness people have to do stuff like this for me!
& there, my friends, is a little wedding tid bit.

BRING IT ON, FALL

i am in huge denial that the summer season is changing into Fall. don’t get me wrong, i am excited for Fall! but i just CAN’T believe that those summer months zoomed by so quickly!
maybe it has to do with the fact that i went to the pool only once.
working full time from 9-5 everyday will do that to you i guess…
ready for an overload of pictures?
ready, set, go.
my best friend and neighbor Will went to serve his mission in Kiev, Ukraine a month ago. his last wishes were to go skydiving so i very willingly obliged.
it was my second time going so they let me do so much by myself! we did a backflip out of the plane, i had an altitude watch so i would look at the altitude and pull the chute and everything.
my idea of fun right there.

i went to visit Willie his last month in Wyoming. we found THE cutest breakfast diner one morning and it was actually one of the best breakfasts i have ever had.
way to surprise me, Wyoming.

annual family California trip!

i went to my first Dodgers game and it’s safe to say i am a big fan now.
i even bought a Dodgers foam finger key chain but am strongly considering getting rid of it after Miley Cyrus’s VMA performance.
ya little skeez.

if you know me, you know i am OBSESSED with donuts.
i don’t understand people that don’t like donuts.
a maple bar can cure anything.
crystal cove, california
my mornings consisted on jogs on the beach with my sissy and dad.

the newport beach donut kingdom

we took balboa by boat one day which was something different and i loved it
i was drooling looking at the gorgeous, quaint homes on the water.

i flew home from California thursday to celebrate my girl Tay’s bachelorette party.

our campfire up milcreek got a little interesting…
and the next day i graduated from college!
i could write a whole blog post on how i did it in 3 years.
it truly wasn’t that hard!

i just figured out little tricks that i knew would get me out of there in no time.
it’s funny because looking back, i am already sad i am graduated.
i met so many amazing people in college. so many people that molded me into the person i am today and the person i have always wanted to become.
we celebrated my 21st on the 21st and he sure did treat me like a princess.
went on a morning trail run with me
took me to get a giant DC and maple bar
took me to anthropologie
and that night took me to Fleming’s at gateway.

my mom: “i have a surprise for you! i bought you your favorite cake!”
me: “oh!….. whaaat cake??”
mom: “your FAVORITE, duh! the one from your favorite restaurant!”
me: “market street?”
mom: “yes!”
me: “oh… ya… thanks mom!!”
ya…… it’s definitely my sisters favorite cake and not mine.
i actually hate cake.
hahahaha shhhhh.

ya ya ya i know my roots are horrific.
spacing it out for the wedding, okay?
bring it on, fall.
