I was so pleased with how many things we were able to squeeze in on our short trip. I felt like I saw (almost) everything I wanted to see and ate (almost) everything I wanted to eat.
Here’s a little list of places we ate:
-Ted’s Bulletin (pop-tarts!)
-Good Stuff Eater (burgers & shakes)
-Jettie’s (probably my favorite place we ate. BEST sandwiches)
-Baked & Wired (oatmeal cookies w/ blueberry ice cream)
-Founding Farmer’s (so many people recommended this on my Instagram! Loved it)
-Seventh Hill Pizza (nutella calzone ?)
-Sweetgreen (their Harvest salad?! I need to recreate it asap)
I can’t tell you how much I LOVED the fact that all the museums were FREE and so accessible. Walking through the Holocaust museum, there is a tunnel that lists all the cities and communities that were affected by the war. I looked to the right and immediately saw KASSEL, the city where my grandpa Diederich lived during the war ❤️ I started crying immediately.
Jettie’s.
All in all, I absolutely loved our trip to D.C. We are hoping to go back soon… very soon! I was so nervous to be there during the election but I always felt safe and will never forget all of my experiences there.
