My first time to Chicago!

When Will told me he had a work conference in Chicago, I said “Perfect! I’m coming!” 🤣 I have never been to Chicago before and have always wanted to go and it exceeded all of my expectations.

While Will worked, I spent the day walking around the city as long and as far as I could. I truly think that is when I am at my absolute happiest! I just walked and explored different areas, ate delicious new food, saw new cute shops, and loved every second. Just ship me my kids and I could’ve done it for weeks and weeks! I love traveling with my family so much and exploring new places is even better.

We stayed at two different hotels during our trip. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and the Marriott Magnificent Mile. Wills work conference was inside of the Waldorf and although that was much nicer (seriously loved the vibes of the cozy rooms too!) I liked the location of the Marriott Magnificent Mile more! It was connected to the giant Nordstrom.. so what more could you ask for? 😉

My favorite thing we did while there was the architecture boat tour! We went with THIS GROUP and loved it but I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I am not all that into architecture and absolutely LOVED it. I just wish we would’ve done it our first day so I could’ve known the history as I walked around and explored. I would’ve loved that!

We ate at Giordano’s, Au Cheval, Stan’s Donuts, Do-Rite, Corey’s NYC Bagel, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Lou Malnati’s, and Pequods! Yes.. we had a LOT of pizza haha! I was curious which deep-dish was the best! But it turns out I might not like deep dish all that much?? My favorite restaurant we ate at was Au Cheval.

My favorite area I walked around in was the Lincoln Park area. So many cute shops (map to the Outdoor Voices store and you’ll be dropped in a darling area) and just be sure to grab some Jeni’s ice cream!

All in all, it was a beautiful time of year to visit Chicago. Once again, I have nothing to compare it to but next time I might push for early June instead since May was still a bit cold… My jacket was put riiiiight back on after that picture was taken haha.

Another huge highlight of the trip was going to the Cubs game! I am on number 8 of MLB parks and this one was my 2nd favorite stadium for sure (I feel like the Dodgers stadium will always be my #1 purely for the old-school vibes haha). If you are in town while they’re having a game, GO! It was a blast.

And that’s it! Best weekend trip. Thanks for letting me tag along on your trip, honey!
